Pretrial Services

Pretrial Services was established through the recent passage of Act 195 (view at http://legislature.vermont.gov/statutes/section/13/229/07554c), with the intent to provide alternatives to traditional criminal justice to those who are eligible and could benefit from a restorative model and treatment.

The program offers participants three confidential screenings surrounding mental health, substance use, and risk of flight/threat to public safety.

The specific details of the screenings will
not be shared, but a summary is provided to the Court with the potential to help determine bail, appropriate conditions of release, or prompt the case's referral to the precharge program.

To determine eligibility, or for more information, please call Bianca at (802) 479-1920
